Google Article

1) Why has Google led to the decline of the newspaper industry?

Because Google has allowed the ability for anyone to become a journalist and as a result it has lead to people to become inspired to write whatever they want leading to the overall quality of the news declining because of the news becoming oversaturated with everyone being able to become a journalist it should only be the professionals allowed to post news instead of everyone.
2) Do you personally think Google is to blame for newspapers closing and journalists losing their jobs? Why?

Google is responsible for the lack of the jobs in the news industry because it has lead to thousands of people posting news and as a result does people are willing to work for free just so that they can get their name out there in the news industry so it has lead to newspapers hiring bloggers with average quality but will be willing to work for free instead of the person who writes better but is asking for money.
3) Read the comments below the article. Pick one comment you agree with and one you disagree with and justify your opinions in detail.

The vast majority of Google’s revenue comes from searches with commercial intent I.e. “cheapest coffeemaker” or “Miami hotels”. They dont earn very much from news related searches like “benghazi interviews”. I would argue they make their money on the backs of commercial enterprise, not journalists. Sergey and Larry owe the news industry nothing.

I strongly disagree with this comment because with new and digital media more and more people are going to get their news from internet instead of newspapers it's just a matter of time for this to happen so I believe that Google are getting a lot more money that this person thinks they are getting because the future of news is here not on the paper.

Somehow I hear a faint sucking sound, like “kissing muffled”. Like a bad marriage, I think letting these wonder boys off the hook totally is as bad as blaming them wholly.
What do you think? The concern here should not be the New York Times and the big boys Google may have hurt, maybe it’s Om’s little competitors? Maybe the written news from the citizen (remember that idea) got washed out with the baby?
Google sold us a bill of goods, like any other corporate blood suckers.
End of Story.
This comment is something I agree with I believe that Google has adapted to what they have to maximise revenue from itself why do you thing they have a news segment on their website why do you think they bought out blogger it's all a set up for Google to take over the news industry just like any other news company has tried to do accept it's now on the internet which is scary because that's the future of news.
